We are full members of the Taekwon-Do United Kingdon founded by Mr Archer VI Degree Black Belt and President of the T-UK. We specialise in ITF style Taekwon-Do that was founded by General Choi Hong Hi and given the name Taekwon-Do on April 11th 1955.
South Leamington TKD is part of the Central Taekwon-Do group where its schools & instructors are under the guidance and supervision of the founder Mr John Archer VI Degree Black Belt & President to the T-UK. All instructors and students are full members of the T-UK and all instructors are fully indemnified and CRB checked - Child Protection Policy in place.
We are a friendly club and welcome all total beginners of all ages, male or female and shapes and sizes. The beginner sessions are designed around basic techniques and will push you gradually to gain stamina and flexibility within the first 3 months. You will find in this period training twice a week you will start to become confident in kicking, punching and blocking correctly and will have gained some mental benefits also.
The children’s sessions are for under 14’s they train in a separate class to the adults. The sessions are designed to make it easier for children to understand how to carry out techniques and movements. We have great success in this division on bringing students through to competing in competitions’ and gaining their black belt status. The emphasis is on safe and disciplined training, with some skills taught in the form of games and exercises designed to keep their interest.
All Sessions are carried out in a safe environment; all instructors are fully qualified and have many years of experience all possible precautions are taken to ensure your safety while you train. When Sparring we wear safety protection, session are highly disciplined, no malicious or vindictive acts will be tolerated from any student!
Everyone has their own reason for training in Taekwon-Do.
People train for physical reasons such as: exercise and conditioning, strength, self-defense, sport, etc.
People also train to strengthen personal qualities like self-discipline and self-esteem. Other mental benefits include inner calm and focus.
Of course most people train for combinations of these reasons, and many others.
